Main Street Gourmet Receives Top Honors for Workforce Development

Main Street Gourmet has been presented with Top Honors recognition for Workforce Development in the International Baking Industry Exposition’s Best in Baking awards’ competition. The IBIE stated, “This category will honor bakers and suppliers who are developing programs that foster sustainable development and ongoing growth of the baking industry workforce.” 2019 marks the first year to include a Workforce Development category in the event.

The award application centered on the company’s long-time commitment to diversity and inclusion. Human Resources Director Kelly Loebick-Frascella commented, “We are honored to be selected for “Top Honors” in the 2019 IBIE Best in Baking Program. We understood that by changing our recruiting and retention approach we would create a competitive advantage in the baking industry. This is what led us to develop our program, “Recruiting and Retention: Embracing Diversity.” The IBIE recognition validates our efforts to make an inclusive environment for our employees that has strengthened our workforce overall.”
